Drawing from an experienced team of molecular biologists, biochemists, physicists, machinists and engineers, Tyler Research creates proof-of-principle and research prototypes and manufactures advanced technology instrumentation. We provide working solutions for scientists and clinicians, applying engineering principles to meet the needs of researchers and practitioners in the life sciences.
Engineering is the creative application of scientific principles to design and develop structures, machines, devices, and processes. This is done by applying the sciences of physics and mathematics to find suitable solutions to problems or to make improvements to existing systems.
Tyler Research works primarily in the fields of biomedical and environmental engineering. In meetings with clients we believe effective communication is critically important to finding the best form for an idea. Contract engineering is often a recursive process of development and assessment on the way to a finished product, and the client is an integral part of this process. Projects are designed, developed and implemented completely within our 18,000 square foot facility, ensuring that every aspect of the work conforms to our demanding quality standard (equivalent to ISO 13485 and ISO 9001).
Our project portfolio ranges from the design of unique equipment from first principles to the reverse engineering and modification of existing technologies so that they better meet the needs of clients.
With expertise in electronics, microprocessor control, precision machining and pure and applied research, Tyler Research is positioned to enhance the investigative process by facilitating the basic and applied research of its clients.
Working with universities, research institutes and corporations throughout North America and Europe, Tyler Research has successfully completed hundreds of projects in the areas of cell and membrane physiology, neurophysiology, protein and nucleic acid chemistry, microbiology and biofilm technology, endocrinology, cryogenics, nuclear magnetic resonance imaging, orthopedic and general surgery, and molecular genetics.
