Welcome to Tyler Research
ENGINEERING SOLUTIONS FOR MEDICINE AND SCIENCE
Our Mission
Tyler Research Corporation's mission is to provide solutions to problems encountered by scientists and clinicians; to apply engineering principles to meet the needs of researchers and practitioners in the life sciences.
Our Business
Tyler Research designs and develops equipment primarily for biomedical and environmental applications. Drawing from an experienced team of molecular biologists, biochemists, physicists and engineers, the company creates proof-of-principle and research prototypes, investigates production methodologies through commercial prototype development, and performs limited run manufacturing of advanced technology instrumentation.
With expertise in electronic systems development, computer and microprocessor control, opto-electronics, precision machining and pure and applied research,Tyler Research is positioned to enhance the investigative process by facilitating the basic and applied research of its clients. Working with universities, research institutes and corporations throughout North America and Europe, Tyler Research has successfully completed hundreds of projects in the areas of cell and membrane physiology, neurophysiology, protein and nucleic acid chemistry, microbiology and biofilm technology, endocrinology, cryogenics, nuclear magnetic resonance imaging, orthopedic and general surgery, and molecular genetics.
Our History
The forerunner of Tyler Research Corporation was established in the United States in 1978 by Dr. Jonathan Tyler. He based the product line of the corporation on his own needs for instrumentation in his capacity as a biochemist and molecular biologist actively engaged in research. In 1986, Dr. Tyler incorporated Tyler Research in Canada, and concurrently founded the Center for Biomedical Design in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Alberta. He served as Director of Biomedical Design and Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Alberta until 1996, at which time he left to devote his full energies to Tyler Research.
